Mahle Pistons Designed for the Ford 3.0L Duratec V6

Mahle Motorsport and Moto IQ helped us develop this custom piston package. The forged pistons have a gray appearance because of the phosphate dry coating (not the same as thermal film coating) that was applied. The phosphate coating provides a lubricant film in the pin bores and ring grooves until the oiling system of the engine reaches operating pressure and this protects against galling and micro-welding during initial break-in for engines. Any compression ratio can be chosen by our clients. It was determined to use a compression ratio of 8.5:1 for our latest turbo engine builds.
